The Big Smoke – London

Had a great four night stay at the Crystal Palace Caravan Club site in mid-July.  The site is located approx. a 40 minute bus ride from the city on the No.3 bus.  Ideal location and perfectly adequate site facilities.  Situated beneath a flight path but this was not an issue to us at all, although reading some comments it was to some people’s. Pfft, chill out!!

As you can imagine, we packed quite a lot into our time there so rather than write it all down, I’ll post some photos instead.

We spent our first evening in Crystal Palace itself, with a good choice of pubs & restaurants just a 5-10 minute walk from the site.  We also enjoyed one helluva thunder storm that evening too, great fun in the motorhome.  The next few days and evenings were spent in London doing touristy things including The London Eye, Open top bus tour, Thames riverboat lunch cruise, two musicals (The Lion King & Billy Elliott), Covent Garden, and meeting for a drink with a friend in Mayfair, and generally lots of walking.

My biggest tip for London would be …. wear comfy shoes!!

Next stop a short stopover in Chipping.
